Tarragona And Sitges Day Trip From Barcelona

ITINERARY:
Like all our tours your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel / airport or cruise port, and we will drive around 1 hour from the Mediterranean coast to the city of Tarragona our first stop will be just before arriving at Tarragona where you will discover the impressive Roman aqueduct (1st century BC), popularly known as’ The Pont del Diable “(Devil’s Bridge) or Aqueduct ‘Les Ferreres’. It used to be part of the network of water supply of the city and today is in almost perfect condition. More than 200 meters long and nearly 30 meters high, It is one of the most important hidden architectural jewels of Catalonia and that few people know.
From the aqueduct we traveled back to Tarragona where you meet your guide in case that you have chosen the driver guide options (With licensed guide option your guide will travel with you from Barcelona) During your visit in Tarragona you will walk around the narrow gate of the ancient walls. Today, the new city overlaps the site of the ancient Acropolis and during his visit will see firsthand the amazing coexistence of a Roman past and present modern life. From the Archaeological walkway, you can admire the stone walls surviving, stroll through the charming historical center and stop at the Cathedral where you can enjoy the morning antique market on Sundays.
We will continue our tour through the old town where we will discover the Roman circus hidden between the current urban design, walk through the underground corridors and reach one of the most popular in the old town squares, Plaça de la Font, located inside the Roman circus.
Once we finish our visit to the Roman city of Tarragona we travel to the pretty small fishing village of Sitges famous for its film festival and carnivals , in this pretty village can stroll through its narrow streets, do some shopping in their craft store and fashion shops, and take a prefect lunch in one of his fantastic restaurants specializing in Mediterranean cuisine.
