Top Barcelona Sights
Barcelona is one of the most visited cities in Europe as it offers the tourist an endless variety of tourist attractions, such as its famous architect Antonio Gaudí, its gastronomy, its wines and cavas, its beach and much more is what Barcelona can offer, but if we focus on the top Barcelona sights we should focus on the following.
1.Casa Batllo.
Perhaps one of my favorites would be the Casa Batllo, this modernist building located on the famous avenue Paseo de Gracia was remodeled by Gaudí between 1904 – 1906, it is a building with a very organic architecture and with a lot of colorful in its façade, Work is inspired by a Dragon as Gaudí wanted to commemorate the legend of Sant Jordi patron saint of the city.
Tip 1: If you want to visit this masterpiece it is recommended to buy the tickets in advance, it is also advisable to buy the Fast pass as it avoid queuing.
Tip 2: Yo know that If you travel to Barcelona in the summer from June 9 to Sept 29 you can enjoy a night life with live music, tapas and Cava in the Roof of the Casa batlló.
2. Park Güell.
Located in the upper part of the city of Barcelona is the Park Güell built by Gaudi between 1900-1914 and declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
The work was commissioned to Gaudí by the Catalan businessman Eusebi Güell and the main idea of the park was to turn the enclosure into a private residence for the high social class of the city, but unfortunately the project was never finished.
Gaudí was inspired by nature to carry out this project and belongs to his stage (Naturalist) inside the park can also visit it´s house Museum, residence of the architect from 1906 – 1925.
Tip 1. If you want to visit the park you need to buy the tickets in advance as the park has a limit of visitors a day.

3. La sagrada Familia.
Probably one of the Tourist attractions of Barcelona more popular and a must see if you travel to Barcelona, This unfinished masterpiece of Gaudi began to build in 1883 and is expected to be completed in 2026 as commemoration of the death of Gaudi in 1926.
The Sagrada Familia Once finished will have three facades going from the birth of Jesus, the Passion of Christ and the last will be the glory which is unfinished, the only facade that Gaudi build was the birth of Jesus, the Pasion is from Josep Maria Subirachs and the last the the one that is working is from Jordi Bonet.
Inside the temple Gaudi wanted to be inspired by nature as he had already done in the Park Güell, and he create in its interior colunnas shaped like trees to give the feeling of being inside a forest, Something unique and worth visiting if you access the interior.
I also recommend if you decide to visit the interior of the temple is to access one of its two towers as you can have a fantastic view of the city of Barcelona and take some spectacular photos.
Tip 1. If you want to visit this work of art I recommend buying your tickets in advance as they are limited.
Tip 2. The best time for visit the Sagrada Familia is in the afternoon, since in the morning it is usually full of tourists.
4. La Pedrera (Casa Mila).
This building designed by Gaudi was built in the early 1900s is located on Barcelona’s main shopping street, Passeig de Gracia where you can find the more expensive store of the city.
The Casa Mila is one of the top attraction in Barcelona and another main example of Catalan Modernisme by Gaudi, The building is inspired by the waves of the sea, (You know Gaudi always was Inspired by nature) – in the top you can find some structures with form of knights of the medieval era that were realized as chimneys.

Tip 2. As similar that the Batllo house in the summer time they do live music with tapas and Cava – Yo can mot miss this if you are in Barcelona.
5. La Boqueria.
This market is located in the same ramblas, another place that you can not miss on your trip to Barcelona, La Boqueria market is the oldest in Barcelona and you can find all kinds of Catalan and Spanish products and even other cultures .
Inside the premises there are small shops where the Barceloneses buy the best products of the city, like fish, seafood, jamon, cheese and all sorts of Spanish delights, you can definitely spend a few hours here and eat really well!
Tip 1. This market normaly is full of people soo please be careful of pickpockets.
Tip 2. Boqueria market is closed on Sundays and partially closed on Mondays and any day after 4pm.
6. Picasso Museum.
In the emblematic neighborhood of the El Borne is located the famous Picasso museum with more that 4.250 works of this painter (Not all the works Are exposed), insade the museum you can discover a large selection of the best works which include paintings, drawings, ceramic and engraving, showing that Picasso could master all these disciplines.
