Cava is a sparkling wine, produced in Spain, most of it in Catalonia. One can find two types of catalan cava in the market, the white one (blanc) or the rosé (rosat).

This wine dates around 1850’s and since then has become a hugely important part of the sector in the economy of Catalonia. There are two main producers with international success: Codorniú and Freixenet.
