Casa Batlló
This is one of Barcelona’s most famous buildings, and probably the best rooftop you will ever be in. It is located in the center of Barcelona and considered one of many masterpieces designed and built by Antoni Gaudí.
It is considered Modernisme or Art Nouveau, and you can see it pretty far since its façade is full of colors and the classic and legendary trencadís (broken ceramic) in many colors.
Also, the rounded feature on the rooftop represents the lance of Saint George, and the whole rooftop represents the dragon that he defeated. In fact, Sant Jordi / Saint George is one of Barcelona’s greatest celebrations, giving a rose to the woman and a book to the man.
La Pedrera-Casa Milà
You can find La Pedrera near the Casa Batlló, in Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s bigger streets. Another name for La Pedrera is Casa Milà, in honor of the family that possessed the house for the first time. It is also known as Miracle Home, so there are plenty of names that you can use to refer to this building.
Again, is a modernist building, a piece of art itself, and a very distinctive sign are their twisting wrought iron balconies and windows, which were designed by Josep Maria Jujol. But the building was designed, again, by Antoni Gaudí.
Fun fact: did you know that Casa Milà belongs to the family of ‘Big Brother Spain’s presenter?
Sagrada Familia
What can we say about the Sagrada Familia that you don’t already know? It is a mandatory stop if you go to Barcelona. Its Barcelona’s main attraction and Antoni Gaudí’s greatest masterpiece. Do not leave Barcelona without entering it, be sure to buy some tickets in advance!
Casa Lleo i Morera
Lluís Domenech I Montaner is the architect of this modernist building located in the Eixample, in Barcelona. It was awarded with Barcelona’s town council’s Arts Building Annual Award in 1906, so yes, it’s worth taking a look at it.
