ITINERARY
Your day begins with us picking you up from your hotel - cruise port or airport and we head straight to Montjuic Mountain for start your tour. visiting sights as the National Palace, Olympic ring from the games of 1992 and see Barcelona from the top of the mountain for take a panoramic view of the whole city and take the best pictures, we continue the tour going down the mountain and making a quick stop at the Plaza de España and the pavilions of the second international exhibition (EXPO) held in Barcelona in 1929.
TRAVEL TO MONTSERRAT:
We continue your day driving to the Montserrat monastery (1 hour travel). The journey is relaxing and goes through marvelous landscapes. Before we reach the Summit we will stop at a viewpoint to get a good look at the mountain of Montserrat, the sheer rocks rising into the blue sky. You can take good photos and then we will back on our way to the Monastery - from this point you can decide if you prefer to get to the monastery with your private transport or prefer to take the cable car (This option is not included in the price and can be booked in advance or if you prefer in the same place - Your choice - If you wish to include this option please include this information in the pre booking form).
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE VISIT IN MONTSERRAT:
Montserrat offers the traveler a great deal of culture and religious history. You can walk to the Holy Cave where the legend tells us two shepherd children found the Black Holy Virgin ¨La Muraneta¨ in the year 880. You can also take a cable car to Sant Joan cave and up to the highest point of the mountain, "ideal place to admire the land below and take the finest photos". one of the most important places of the monastery is the Basilica where is the figure of the Black Holy Virgin ¨La Muraneta¨ and there you will be able to listen to the Escolanios, one of the oldest children’s choirs in Europe (Saturday there is no recital). Of course your expert guide will be always with you for explain all the details and the fascinating history of Montserrat,
FREE TIME:
At the end of the visit your guide will give you some free time for have a lunch and make some shopping, we recomet to check the artisanal products from the land that the merchants sell in a small market right at the entrance of the monastery, you can find products such cheeses, jams, honey and a so many other natural goodies. We would recommend you to try out the Mato cheese. It’s fresh and has a honey like texture. It is exquisite, especially as a dessert.
TRAVEL BACK TO BARCELONA FOR CONTINUE THE DAY:
Once the tour in Montserrat is over we will travel back to Barcelona for continue your day, the first stop will be the famous Sagrada Familia (Optional inside) or Park Güell in case that you prefer just see the Sagrada Familia externally, next we will continue the tour visiting some of the main Gaudi sights in the famous Paseo de Gracia street with drive pass by La Pedrera (casa Mila) and Casa Batllo two famous buildings built by Antonio Gaudi and part of the Block of Disagreement, Once the tour will be finish your driver guide will take you back to your hotel - Cuise port or airport.
